Ashley Graham was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her family consisted of two younger sisters, and was regularly bullied at school because of her large thighs. Graham was identified as having hyperactivity/attention deficit disorder soon after she graduated from primary school. Graham was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (A.D.H.D.) just a few days after finishing elementary school. Graham was picked up by a talent agent when she was only 12 in a Nebraska mall. Her picture was published in advertisements and magazines prior to the time she graduated of Lincoln Southwest High School. In the early days of Graham's modelling career, she was a model but her physical characteristics meant it was difficult for her to get work. Graham accepted several models from catalogs over time. Yet she was constantly told that it would be difficult for her to advance beyond smaller tasks. She was able to advance her career quickly when she proved those who doubted her to be wrong. Sally Singer interviewed her for "Vogue's" 2007 issue, giving her her first break. In 2009, Graham was featured in "Glamour's" "These Bodies Are Beautiful at All Sizes". Graham became a media sensation when she was featured as a model in the controversial Lane Bryant commercial. The ad was later banned in several countries. The debate grew to the point that Graham was a guest on Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show." Graham was well-known and is was one of the most admired plus-sized women in the world today. Grande was only a little girl at the time she started singing and acting. In 2008, Grande was offered a role in The Broadway show 13 which she then began appearing on television in small roles. The year 2010 was when she received her biggest break by being cast in the Nickelodeon television show Victorious. Cat Valentine was a teenager who was a student at an arts-focused high school. After the sitcom was canceled in 2013, she appeared in the spin-off program Sam & Cat (2013-14).
